Trip to Europe: England

Food

I’ve loved almost everything I’ve been able to try. So I’m going to share some pictures and info about the best things.

Breakfast-

I tried a lot of breakfast foods, but my favorite was when some of us went and got coffee, mine was a hazelnut cappuccino (I was going to get a vanilla one, but I panic ordered and said hazelnut) and avocado and tomato toast.

Lunch-

We had a lot of great lunches. I liked the fish and chips a lot, but my favorite was when my mom and I went and got a Caesar salad sandwich, a raspberry croissant, a chocolate croissant, and pomegranate tea.

Supper-

I have two favorites: lasagna and the meal on the riverboat. The lasagna was so cheesy and delicious. I ate every last bit of my meal. The riverboat served a lot of different appetizers; the best one was the tomato, spinach, and goat cheese baguette.

Day 30: What are my goals for the next 30 days?

In the next thirty days my goals for this blog are to share about the trip I’m on right now. At this very moment I’m sitting in my hotel room in London, England. Tomorrow we travel to France so on the way I’ll be preparing my first travel post all about England. I plan on doing a post after every country; there are seven of them. They are England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Liechtenstein, and Germany. I’m very excited to post pictures and stories about the trip so far! This trip is kinda why I started a blog in the first place. I wanted to be able to share about my adventure on more than just Instagram or Facebook, which I’m still in the process of setting up being it’s not loading. So I hope you will enjoy the upcoming posts!

Day 28: What is something or someone you miss?

How fitting because I just left on a trip to Europe. We arrived in London today. So far I’m not home sick at all, which is really good. I think that in a few days I’ll start to miss my family a lot. I’ll miss my dad and my two sisters so much by the end of the trip. I just know it. Even though I know this will come eventually, I’m still super excited that I got this amazing opportunity to come on a tour through Europe. How many people get to say they’ve done that at age sixteen.

I’m very grateful for all the people that helped me get here and encouraged me to go in the first place. I can’t express how lucky I feel to be able to do this. It’s still a little hard to believe that I’m a whole ocean away from home. I can’t wait for the rest of this amazing journey.

Day 27: Discuss a problem you have or had in the past.

I’ve always had a problem with being extremely critical with others and with myself. I’ve very picky and I like things to be done exactly how I want them to be. I think my ideas are the best, and I find it hard to admit when I’m wrong. When there’s a situation where something goes wrong I find it hard to see the good. I’m constantly reminding myself that even though it’s not exactly how I want it, it will be okay.

Romans 8:28- And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Day 26: If I had $1,000,000, how would I spend it?

Since I’m only sixteen, I would save it to pay off debts. When you go to college you end up with a lot a debt, so my first goal is to pay that off. With a million dollars that shouldn’t be too hard. Next I would buy a nice house and a nice car. I wouldn’t buy some huge mansion or a insanely expensive car. I just everything in both the house and car to work correctly and look good, but not too extravagant. I know I’d most likely go on a shopping spree with a small portion of the money as well. I’d also like to give part of it to a charity, the community, or a Christian organization. Giving back gives enough joy to give up some of my new found wealth.

With anything left I would like to simply put it in savings. It could be for my future kids, other debts or payments due, or maybe a nice trip with some people/person I love.

If I had this much, I’d hope that people wouldn’t judge me because of my wealth. I wouldn’t want to flaunt my money, but instead be grateful to God and humble myself. Surely if I got this much money it was God’s provision, and He would deserve much praise.

Day 25: Discuss someone who fascinates me and why?

I feel like most people would expect this person to be a celebrity, but I truly am fascinated by my grandma. I mean what an amazing women she is. She has taught me so much about living a godly life. She’s a hard working and not a complainer. She is humble and always puts others first. She’s an amazing cook. Her house is my home away from home. Grandma takes care of her grandchildren, and lots of other children because she runs the church nursery. She is organized, but still likes to have fun. She can be super chill, or be strict when needed. She’s got great style. She shows the meaning of godly leadership. Her heart must have to be gigantic for the amount of love she has for anyone and everyone. All of these qualities amaze me; I’m so lucky to call her mine. Our family is so thankful for her.

Day 24: What is my favorite movie and why?

My favorite movie is the Greatest Showman. I love all of the songs so much that I memorized them all. It has a lot of good actors in it too. I think it has a really great message for people of all ages. It shows that being different is okay.

If I had to pick a favorite movie series, that would be a challenge. I have two that I cannot decide between: The Hunger Games series and The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit series. The Hunger Games are very action packed, and anyone who watches it can easily fall in love with the characters, especially Jennifer Lawrence because she’s a boss. The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit movies are so hard for me to pause because they’re simply fascinating. If you haven’t seen either of these I highly recommend to watch them.

Day 22: How have I changed over the past few years?

I think over the last few years I’ve changed a lot for a bunch of different reasons.

In the last couple years I’ve changed the way I present myself, especially this last year. I’ve started to wear and buy clothes that are more my style. I started wearing makeup more often. I also got braces and got them off so now my teeth are straight. None of these external changes really matter when you think about them though. The inside matters most, and I have changed a lot in that area to.

This last year I’ve learned a lot about myself and what I’m passionate about. I recently learned a lot about my personality and how it affects my decision making. (If you have extra time, you should definitely take a test to find out your personality type) Learning this stuff has helped me to think about other people’s personalities, and I think it helps me treat them better. I also learned that my main spiritual gift is encouragement. So I want to encourage you to find out what your gift is, and pursue it! I’ve grown closer to God in prayer. Not just praying before meals or before bed, but praying throughout the day. I’ll find myself praying when I’m driving (don’t worry I keep my eyes open and my hands on the wheel), or when I’m just relaxing, or when I see other people struggling with stuff. It took me a long time to get used to doing it, but I love it. It definitely helps me throughout the day to talk to God. I’ve learned a lot about how to be a good leader, and I’ve tried to start putting that into practice.

Even just writing this I didn’t realize that all of this stuff has happened to me in the last year, and there’s probably more. It’s crazy how God slowly molds us into who we could be. Isn’t He just amazing?!
